I grew up on the plains of Nebraska, a stark yet beautiful landscape that provided fertile ground for my imagination. I enrolled at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in art with honors.

In college I first discovered clay. Starting with a kick wheel and a small ball of clay, I became obsessed with the hypnotic spinning process of throwing.

I moved to Vail, Colorado where I worked as a ceramics instructor at Colorado Mountain College and then on to California, where I earned my master’s degree from California State University at Northridge.

In 1993, I moved to the Pacific Northwest, where I continue to work with figurative sculpture and my new passion, painting!
